Get messy! Make mistakes! Have fun!

I am releasing these here for free because I really want more people to try and step out of their comfort zone and draw MESSY!!!  It's harder to do digitally than it is traditionally, so I'm trying to make brushes that give that same effect.  @ me on @saturns_days on instagram or @artfromsaturn on tumblr if you use them, I'd love to see what you make!

I'll explain the brushes below, then show some example drawings after.  Sorry for the length ;w;

1. Contour Ink - Triangle tipped, easier to control.  For those who are unfamiliar, a contour line drawing is a drawing done with one continuous line.  It's fun to practice with and gives some cool results.  Messy and rewarding.
2.Alternate Contour Ink - Triangle Tipped, more variation, harder to control.  Great for swooping lines.
3. Iceland Ink - Named after a previous brush, slightly rough round tip, like #1 with a round tip.  Easier to control.

4.Toothed Ink - Crunchy ink for crunchy people.  Great for rough line art.  Easy to control.
5. Call a Spade a Pen - From the English phrase "Call a spade a spade", it is a pen with a spade tip.  It's great for whipping around fast, dynamic lines.
6.Stray ink - Ink with a stray hair.  Dynamic, good for graffiti or analog ink looks.  Medium control difficulty, not bad.

7. Whip It Good Ink - A much more noticeable stray hair ink.  The end of a line will always end up as a little bigger unless you change pressure.  Gives scribbles variety when filling in black areas.
8. Thought wave Ink - Harder to control.  Big tilt, big bold line.  Dual Brush.
9. Gothic Ribbon - Weird brush. The tips look "bitten" off.  Pen pressure is configured to go fat to skinny to fat, like a curving ribbon. Dual Brush.

10.  Wolverine Ink - Sharp and straight.  Big bold line.  Very easy to control, great for cartoons & hatching.
11. Leaking Calligraphy - Harder to control, gives more dynamic and varied lines because of it.  Flat with an odd pressure curve, interesting for gesture drawings.
12. Indie Brush - Always ends with a big tip unless changed.  Harder to control, but nicely messy.

13. Grunge Brush - Dual Brush with stray bristles.  Great for hair, wind, motion, & fraying.
14. Horsetail Brush - A more solid brush with 2 dark stray hairs.  Great for graffiti writing & fun to use.
15. Rail line Ink - Like subway tracks.   Smooth at lower sizes, rough at higher sizes.  Dynamic, can be used for interesting hatching effects.
16. Fangs ink - Smooth at large and small sizes.  Similar to 15, but with a greater drop and different tip.

17. Tracks ink - This pen has a single line when pressure is applied, but splits when pressure is off.  Can be used for lettering as well as sketching & lining.
18. Dying Tip Ink - This is what happens when your dip pen needs to be dipped again. A dual brush that creates a gap tooth look, fun for hair and hatching.
19. Trainyard Ink - The dying tip ink, but rougher.  I love it!

20.  Dry Calligraphy - A wobbly round calligraphy tip that speeds across the page dryly.  Great for sketching.
21. Rough Icelandic Ink - #3 with more texture and slightly different pressure.  Another good one for sketching, can also be used to fill in black spaces with texture.
22. Rust-inator - A brush with a watercolor border.  Looks like patches of rust when put down.  Can be used for lines, texture, etc..  Try adjusting the watercolor border to your liking, feel free to turn it off.

That's all!  Here's some examples, you guys have a good day!

Pixel art lover, game enthusiast, strange artist. I like making brushes because I find it fun! I don't like charging for my stuff unless I put a lot of effort into it, so most of my stuff is free. I just like sharing things with people :D
