The Rubin 02 Bold&Thick. I created this brush while looking at the lines of the european comic master, David Rubin, trying to capture the parts of his linework that are most bold and think, yet still controlled.
Hey Clip people. I’m a Auckland based comic artist and illustrator. My handle is Dropthedrawings.
For me, the right tool really helps me create the linework that I want to create. I am always tweaking and playing with settings in Clip, and now I think it is time to share a few of my creations. Most of these are made with some serious tweaking of the standard brushes and using different textures and shapes.
This brush is the Rubin 02 Bold&Thick. I created this brush while looking at the lines of the european comic master, David Rubin, trying to capture the parts of his linework that are most bold and think, yet still controlled.
First, Remember to adjust your pen pressure settings to something that suits you. I use a rather strange pressure graph that seems suits me best:
Examples of Rubin 02 Bold&Thick lines. This is a clean brush and is quite forgiving. Remember to vary your strokes and look at reference.
