The Rubin 01 Natural Ink. I created this looking at the lines of the european comic master, David Rubin, trying to capture his beautiful, controlled linework.
Hey Clip people. I’m a Auckland based comic artist and illustrator. My handle is Dropthedrawings.
For me, the right tool really helps me create the linework that I want to create. I am always tweaking and playing with settings in Clip, and now I think it is time to share a few of my creations. Most of these are made with some serious tweaking of the standard brushes and using different textures and shapes.
The first brush is the Rubin 01 Natural Ink. I created this looking at the lines of the european comic master, David Rubin, trying to capture his beautiful, controlled linework.
Remember to adjust your pen pressure settings to something that suits you. I use a rather strange pressure graph that seems suits me best:
Examples of Rubin 01 Natural Ink lines. This is a clean brush and is quite forgiving. Remember to vary your strokes and look at reference.
