A brush that can draw wave caustics (a pattern of refracted light) and an action that adds distortion

  • The brush contains one type of "wave caustics" and one type of eraser for adjustment.
  • Caustic brushes reflect pen pressure.
  • The included auto action is made exclusively for this brush and is not suitable for other uses.

◆How to draw caustics
1) Create a new layer and set the mode to dodge (luminous).



2) Draw freely with the "Caustics (Wave Focusing)" brush.
If you draw it with a mesh-like image while adding it slowly and urgently, it will be beautifully finished.


【TIPS】
The caustic brush automatically corrects iri (start drawing) and nuki (end drawing) after drawing.
While drawing, the tip is clear, but when you release the pen, it becomes smoother.



3) Run the bundled auto action.

【⚠ Points to note before execution】
・ Please make sure that the layer depicting caustics is subject to editing.
・ If the layer is clipped or locked, please unlock it.
・ Please execute for an additive layer with a transparent background.

【How to use】
(1) Make the layer you want to auto action for editing.
(2) Select the "Wave Distortion - Weak" or "Wave Distortion - Strong" action and click the Run button.
* If the size of the brush you drew is 200 or less, "Weak" is recommended, and if the brush size is 200 or more, "Strong" is recommended.



4) Align the shape to the surface you want to project light on (e.g. the bottom of the water).
Select "Edit" → "Transform" from "Transform" in the menu bar, and then "free transform".
If the surface is not flat, use "mesh transformation".



5) Use the "Blur (for adjust density)" brush to gently erase unnecessary areas and areas you want to thin.

◆コースティクスの描き方
1) 新規レイヤーを作成し、モードを「覆い焼き(発光)」にします。



2) 「コースティクス(波の集光)」ブラシで自由に描画します。
　緩急を付けながら、網目のようなイメージで描くと綺麗に仕上がります。


【TIPS】
コースティクスブラシは、描画後にイリ(描き始め)とヌキ(描き終わり)が自動的に補正されます。
描画中は先端がくっきりしていますが、ペンを離すと滑らかになります。



3) 同梱のオートアクションを実行します。

【⚠実行前の注意点】
・コースティクスを描いたレイヤーが編集対象になっている事をご確認ください。
・レイヤーをクリッピングやロックしている場合は解除してください。
・背景が透明な加算系レイヤーに対して実行してください。

【使い方】
①オートアクションを実行したいレイヤーを編集対象にします。
②「波の歪み-弱」か「波の歪み-強」アクションを選択し、実行ボタンをクリックします。
※描画したブラシのサイズが200以下の場合「弱」、200以上の場合「強」がオススメです。



4) 光を投影したい面（水底など）に形状を合わせます。
　メニューバーの「編集」→「変形」から「自由変形」を選択します。
　面が平らでない場合は「メッシュ変形」をお使いください。



5) 「ぼかし消し(濃度調整用)」ブラシで、不要な範囲・薄くしたい部分をふわっと消してください。


完成！

  • 「弱」は歪みと明暗のブレが細かく、弱いぼかしがかかります。
  • 「強」は歪みと明暗のブレが粗く、強いぼかしがかかります。
