Shiny gradients, great for shiny surfaces!
I forgot why I made this set, but here it is. It's based on reflective objects like nail polish, glitter makeup, CDs, and other fun iridescent things.
Gradients:
If you want to achieve a fancy effect, try adding a gradient to a pattern, then put that over your original drawing like this:
Here's my layer set up:
Top: The gradient layer clipped to a layer pattern.
Middle: The pattern, colored in greyscale. It has transparent & low opacity parts to show the bottom drawing more.
Bottom: The base ball.
You can also combine the top & middle layer instead, I like the clipping method so I can adjust the gradient easier. You can make oil slicks and other reflective light effects this way, or add subtle color variation. :)
