The board is covered in a heavy-duty fabric, often patterned. The support and locking mechanism for the board may be made of cast iron or other heavy-duty metals.

For LT conversion purposes, there is a mask object that is hidden in the 3d Object. To turn its visibility on:
- Set the Layout and Material that you want.
- Open the object list
- Locate the mask sub-layer within your Ironing Board Cabinet model and toggle the visibility on.
- If you wish, change the shadow settings to "cast on 3d objects" to catch the shadow from the object.
