Blue Ink on Photo Paper 01

Image material of Blue ink that was dripped and smeared onto glossy photo paper.
It comes in four different colours and can of course be easily hue-shifted as well.

I originally did this just to see how the glossy photo paper would react to the fountain pen ink.

It created some bleeding, and the spots with the most ink crumbled and I brushed them away, leaving the white underneath.

Some of it looks almost like marble painting or water marbling, with bubbles and stuff, while other parts have almost frost flower like pattern.

Then, there are soft gradients from blue to white, while other spots have a more harsh contrast. Because of this, you can pick out certain parts and get very different effects and emotions, making it strangely versatile.

I have used this single texture for years for various different things. So, I thought that it might be useful to others as well.

I think it can be used well for T-shirt designs, as background image for certain emotions/reaction panels, or to give texture to other things.

Personally, I like to use it as a base for using brushes that are suppoused to pick up the colour from beneath to give the brush some colour variation/texture (for example certain grass or ground brushes that use it to create a pattern of cloud shadows in the grass/ground).

Or I take parts of it, transform and blur it, then put a colour gradation on top of it, combine it and lay it over the whole image with an appropriate layer effect. To have a change in colour on the whole image, but have it be a bit more dynamic.

I hope you'll find it useful, too!
