For when you want the look of stippling, but not the pain of tapping your tablet over and over again.

Edit 3.2022: Added 1 more brush, the rotating mass brush.

Stippling is placing down dots with a pen or pencil in clusters to create a shading gradient.  It is related to hatching, in traditiona line works, pointillism in painting, and"dithering" in pixel art.  The process is tedious and time consuming, but gives the artist a lot of control in black and white mediums & gives a wonderful texture.

However, stippling in a digital medium... sucks.  Tablets do not always register pen tapping properly, and clicking each dot with a mouse is painful and even more time consuming than traditional pen and ink.  Thus the lazy stippling set, the pen set made to make hundreds of dots in half the time with half the hassle.

All these pens are meant to be modified and experimented with.  Do not be afraid to change the settings to make them more comfortable for your hand. c:

Group one - linear pens.

1. Lazy Stippling - Makes dots in a line.  Goes from 1 dot to clusters of 3 dots when pressured is applied.
2. Lazy Stippling Alt Tip - Like the original, but with slightly different settings and a different brush tip.
3. Lazy Stippling Line - Lays one dot at a time in a line.  Gap is pressure controled.
4. Lazy Stippling Dense Line - like Lazy Stippling 1, but denser.

Group 2 - sprays.  All add more dots the more pressure is applied.  Adusting particle density, gap, size, & spray deviation changes the look.

5. Light Spray
6. Dark Small/Light Big -  The Brush size is the opposite of most brushes: the less pressure on the brush, the bigger the brush.  The more pressure on the brush, the smaller the brush.  This lets darker areas have a deeper concentration of dots without changing the brush size or particle density.
7. Even Spray - Like 6, but pressure does not affect size, only particle density.
8. Dense Stipple Spray
9. Bad Stippling - This is the orignal brush the set was based on, found in my Noise Brush set.  It is here so you don't have to download the set for just this brush. :)
10. Extra Dense Stipple Spray

11. Line with Stippling Tail - Dense, dense line at high pressure, little itty bitty particle tail at low pressure.
12. Overlapping Hatcher - ....ok this one isn't a stippler. ;w;  I just had nowhere else to put this, so this is a bonus brush you can play around with or delete.
13. Stipple Tip Line - Has the same tip as most of the stipple brushes.  Adjust to taste.
14. Stipple Line Rough - A rough particle pen that can be made more or less rough by adjusting particle density & size.

Line Test:

Pixel art lover, game enthusiast, strange artist. I like making brushes because I find it fun! I don't like charging for my stuff unless I put a lot of effort into it, so most of my stuff is free. I just like sharing things with people :D
