Ain't nothing like a chunky brush.
I'm kind of insane. I like using aliased/pixel/rough edged brushes to draw and paint. So I made a funky chunky brush for it & a smooth variation:
For Microsoft translate: The one on the left says "anti-alias off" and shows the normal brush. The one on the right says "anti-alias on" and is the smooth variant. 
Left: Regular, Right: Smooth. I encourage you to play around with the pen pressure size to find one that's right for you! I prefer even lines to lots of variance, so I have it set to low.
Here's an example of using it to "paint":
All you have to do is lower the opacity.
