■Product description
This material is a 3D model that reproduces as accurately as possible the blade of the famous sword "Kagote Kirigo" that has carved its name in history.
This sword is sometimes referred to as the "Basket Tekirie (篭手切江)".
The dimensions of the blade, the layering and original width, the structure of the ridge, the shape of the stem, and the position of the eye nail hole are modeled based on detailed materials.
The fist, including the brim and armor, was also carefully finished in detail.
The power and presence of a famous sword brings a certain persuasive power to the creation of works.

■A famous sword that wears history
"Kagote Kirigo" is a famous sword struck by Yoshihiro Go, one of the master craftsmen known as "Tenkasansaku".
Yoshihiro was a swordmaker who is said to have been active during the Nanboku-cho period, and there are no works of his name.
By appraisal by the Honami family, the master of sword appraisal, this sword was mastered as the work of Yoshihiro.
It is a master craftsman who is counted among the three works under Tenka, and the Masamune Jutetsu, but it has been regarded as a precious sword since ancient times, so much so that it is said that "I have never seen a village and an obake".
This work is a specialty of the Inaba family, and it is said that the name was given because it was sharp enough to cut off the entire gauntlet.
Underneath the habaki, there is a sword blade sculpture with kanji, and from its position and the traces left on the stem, it is thought that what was originally a tachi sword was polished into a wakizashi.
* The kanji characters are expressed by textures, but polygons for extract line are embedded inside the blade.
By manipulating the model for kanji from the object list, it is possible to extract the lines of the kanji characters.
There is an inscription of gold inlay on the front of the stem and a silver inlay on the back, indicating that it was appraised by the 11th generation Koon of the Honami family.
Even today, it is carefully preserved and inherited as a work of art that Japan is proud of, and it is truly a swing that shows the depth of Japan sword culture.

本素材は、歴史に名を刻む名刀『籠手切郷』の刀身を、可能な限り正確に再現した3Dモデルです。
この刀は、『篭手切江』とも呼ばれることがあります。
刀身の寸法、重ねや元幅、棟の構造、茎の形状や目釘穴の位置に至るまで、綿密な資料をもとにモデリング。
鍔（つば）や鎺（はばき）を含む拵も、細部にわたり丁寧に仕上げました。
名刀が持つ迫力と存在感が、作品制作に確かな説得力をもたらします。

■歴史を纏う名刀
『籠手切郷』は、「天下三作」と称される名工のひとり、郷義弘によって打たれた名刀です。
義弘は、南北朝時代にかけて活躍したとされる刀工で、その在銘の作品は皆無。
刀剣鑑定の大家である本阿弥家による鑑定により、この刀は義弘の作と極められました。
天下三作、正宗十哲に数えられる名工中の名工ですが、「郷とオバケはみたことがない」とまで言われるほど、古来より貴重な刀とされてきました。
本作は、稲葉家伝来の名物で、籠手ごと断ち切るほどの切れ味から、その号がつけられたとされています。
ハバキの下には、梵字の刀身彫刻があり、その位置と、茎に残る痕跡から、元は太刀であったものを磨り上げて脇差にしたものと考えられています。
※梵字についてはテクスチャによる表現を用いていますが、刀身内部にライン抽出用のポリゴンを埋め込んであります。
オブジェクトリストより、梵字用のモデルを操作することで、梵字のラインも抽出することが可能です。
茎の表には金象嵌、裏には銀象嵌の銘があり、本阿弥家11代光温により鑑定されたことがわかります。
現在も、日本が誇る美術品として大切に保存・継承されており、まさに日本刀文化の奥深さを物語る一振りです。
