this is the layer template i use to draw a double spread of a5 pages for my comic (canvas size: 300x210mm)
in order:
- the "trimmed" layer is a white border to know where the pages end;
- the "eye strain" layer is to help ease the stress on the eyes by muting the background white;
- the "thumbnails" layer is where i put the storyboards i planned for the whole spread;
- the "right/left p" folders contain a big frame to divide in order to make the page's pannels.
inside each page folder:
- a folder for the balloons and texts
- a folder for background, mainground and foreground, each with:
- "inks" with a vector layer for lineart and a raster layer to fill with black and hatching;
- "colors" with:
- "base" to fill in the flat layers;
- "shade" to put down the scene shadows;
- "occlusion" to put down the darkest shadows;
- "light" to enhance the contrast.
