A quick and non-destructive way to seperate out an image into it's base RGB channels. Can be used to create effects like chromatic abberation when combined with other filters and layer translations.
The R, G, B channels will be placed within a "Through" folder, each one converted to "Add" blending layers and a black "Normal" base will be created. All your other layers will remain untouched.
There are two Auto Actions included in this set:
RGB Channels - Turns all visible layers into its respective RGB Channels
- Just activate and it will do all the work for you.
RGB Selected - Turns only the selected layers into RGB Channels
- Select the layers you wish to extract the channels from
- Activate this Auto Action
With both actions, it will look like nothing has happened. Choose the channel you want to manipulate and shift it a few pixels, or blur/distort/liquify/transform (the sky's the limit). Add a mask to the folder to localize the abberation.
I personally use this as a finishing touch and for post-processing.
