Gradient Maps to apply to your drawings
Hello there!
First of all thank you for taking interest in the gradient maps I created!
They're really important to me as this is my first time publishing something here
I'm gonna be showing how you can use them now:
1- if you want to apply them to a particular part of your drawing I recommend coloring it on B&W so you can figure out the values. In case you've already colored it and just want to test how it would look like with the colors it's also okay, but You might need to change a little bit of the settings.
In this case I'll be applying it to the shirt and paper:
In this case I'll be applying the "Comic Drama" Gradient Map, for that I'll go to Layer -> New Correction Layer (J) -> Gradient Map.
Then double click the one you want to apply and press OK
TA-DA! You just got the gradient map applied to that part of your drawing!!!
You can also move the handles on the Gradient Map Menu to adjust the ammount color that is showing in your drawing.
In the following example I moved the handles farther to the left so the red and purple showed a little bit more:
Finally You can also apply it to the whole drawing to change the mood of the drawing.
For that just go to the top layer on your drawing and go: Layer -> New Correction Layer -> Gradient Map. Choose the one you want to apply, double click and press OK.
I suggest you set the Gradient Map Layer to "Normal" and adjust the Opacity of the layer to 30%, that usually do the job for me.
Original:
"Comic Drama" gradient applied, with Layer set to "Normal", 30% Opacity:
Scorching Sun gradient applied, Layer set to "Normal" with 30% opacity:
Have fun trying the gradient maps and changing them to fit better your drawing <3
