Fake Velvet

There's like this cheap velvet texture you can get on costumes, and I couldn't find a texture for it, so I made one myself.

This was a quick experiment, a digitally made texture that is supposed to look like crushed velvet, the kind you get on kitsch costumes and cheesy sofas.  Here's the two patterns below:
Normal cheap velvet is on the left, the sharpened cheap velvet is on the right.  Double cheap velvet, the third texture, is the sharp velvet BUT with black & white instead of just black.

Example:

I dragged my material out, applied it to my layer, then went to layer properties.  Then, I clicked on Overlay Texture, & adjusted the strength.  Velvet is a weird thing to shade, so I suggest looking up a few images before you shade it yourself.

I added the brush I used to shade it, this way you can get a fuzzy little texture out of your brush when shading.  You can use it for any sort of pastel work you'd like, too!

Thanks for having a look, hope this helps...?

Hi, I'm Saturn and I enjoy Pixel Art & making CSP assets too much. Most of my stuff is free, but I also have some fancy brushes you can buy in my links. Feel free to check it out, but no worries if you only use free stuff. It's meant to be used anyway! :D
