This color palette is sampled from a variety of comic books published in the United States in the 1970s and 1980s, popularly known as the "Bronze Age" of superhero comics.
The upper tiers of colors reflect the pure colors assigned for the printer. The lower tiers reflect the appearance of colors after being printed on newsprint for publication.
