Basically what it says on the tin, it's a gradient that goes from transparent to your foreground colour.
Use it as you would a normal gradient. I've found it's very useful if you use it in a circle to make a vignette
Also, if you find the gradient is too dark near the centre you can use clip studio's gradient erase in the circle format to lighten it
