They work like a stamp, so you need only press once (without dragging) after selecting the appropriate brush size. It can be transformed, erased, and deformed to your liking so that it fits the shape of your eye. 
This type of eye has a soft pupil for a deep feeling. Your primary colour should be darker in tone as the base/pupil of the eye, and the secondary lighter for the lighter part of the iris. If it looks muddy, please increase the variation in tone between your primary and secondary colours.
