I've been using these gradient maps for all kinds of pieces, designs, sketches and paintings. I usually use them raw on the "Normal" layer setting but they've proven to be useful as Soft Light, Pin Light, Multiply layers with opacity adjustments or without
I encourage you to adjust the relationships between the colors when you use one, for personalized and higher quality results (since your values are important factors in how the gradient applies itself to your work).
To do so just click the " ^ " icon under a color and slide it left and right on the bar - the more left the color is the more it will affect dark colors, and the more right a color is the more it will effect light colors!
