Beware of the bright colors, they're there just for a few special details. If you wanna keep a spooky/sad/ominous vibe, you should gravitate towards the darker colors in most of your picture. You may look for purple tones to make the shadows of a night, or a grayish red for the day. It's autumn, it's octuber. Everything is dying, including the colors.
