This plaid-style checkered pattern was created in Clip Studio Paint using the grid and guide tools for precise alignment. The symmetrical layout gives it a clean, textile-inspired look.
Select the clothing area using the Magic Wand (Auto Select Tool). Make sure the selection is clean (no gaps). Go to your plaid pattern layer. Click Add Layer Mask (with the selection active). The pattern will now appear only inside the selected clothing area. Use Transform (Ctrl+T) to resize or reposition if needed.
Set the pattern layer’s blending mode to Soft Light for natural color blending and to show fabric folds.
