A chair that turns into a step stool.
The Step Stool Chair (or often referred colloquially in the States as the "Costco Stool") is a spot for you to sit at the counter for food preparation as well as a convenient step stool for reaching high places.
These stools are often made of a shiny chrome-like metal, black rubber, and a vinyl cushion or an enameled metal seat.

This model is articulated to allow the steps to slide under the chair and out in front of it.
It also has layout options to remove the steps and convert it to a normal chair, if that is what you wish.
