The brush is intended to be used on a layer above the base tone of the metal, and then afterwards going in with highlights and shadows to add more volume to the bumps and impressions:
Using light tones and an [Overlay] blending mode can also give a galvanised steel texture:
The brush works best when a lighter colour is used for the main colour, and a darker one for the sub colour, but experimentation can lead to creative combinations:
The regular Rust Brush builds up the more you go over an area with the same stroke:
