Use the full sequence brush ("M SPIKES") to quickly place a chain of 5 spikes.
Use the singles brush ("M SPIKES SINGLE") to draw a bunch of different spikes and then place them manually on the canvas where you need them to be.
(This was done mainly for more easy options for drawing+editing while working with vector layers)
Use a Gradient map to quickly color or for a different look. Get creative
