You can check out the selection launcher and Quick access for a little modification

Also, for drawing and iterating quickly, I find this auto action to be vital

Also, I forgot what the preview button does, It switches to your proof color preview which you open from View tab, all the way down, I use this to check the grayscale value of whatever is on the screen, Instead of any layer set to color overlay mode or other methods, I found this easier, If you want to use the grayscale, you would need to download the ICC profile for that, this video explains how to do it.
