I created a custom workspace for drawing in Clip Studio Paint, inspired by the Illustration Default Workspace but tailored to fit my workflow and boost efficiency. Here’s how it’s organized:
Left Panel
• At the top: Pen, Brush, Tools, and Sub-tools for quick access.
• Just underneath: Tool Property, Layer Property, and Align/Distribute panels.
• At the bottom: Color Tabs including Color Wheel, Color History, Color Set, and Color Mixing for seamless color adjustments.
Bottom Middle
• The Brush Sizes Tab and Information Tabs sit here, making it easy to adjust brush sizes and monitor key project details.
Right Panel
• Top Right: Focused on references and tools that provide feedback while drawing, including the Navigator, Subview, and Item Bank.
• Bottom Right: Essential workflow panels such as the Layer Tab, History Tab, Auto Action, and Layer Comps for managing layers and automating repetitive tasks.
Additional Features I’ve Added
1. Quick Access Tab:
• I’ve included a Quick Access Tab for frequently used tools and commands like flipping the canvas, saving, merging layers, or toggling visibility.
2. Material Gallery Organization:
• My Material Gallery is organized into categories (e.g., brushes, textures, assets) to quickly find what I need during a project.
3. Notes Panel:
• I use the Memo Tab for jotting down ideas, to-do lists, or quick notes while working.
4. Task-Specific Workspaces:
• I’ve saved additional workspaces tailored for specific tasks like sketching, coloring, or finalizing line art. This helps me quickly switch workflows depending on the project stage.
5. Shortcut Customization:
• I’ve customized keyboard shortcuts for common actions to minimize clicks and save time.
6. Workspace Backup:
• I periodically back up my workspace (Window > Workspace > Register Workspace) to ensure I can restore it if needed.
This layout keeps my tools, references, and workflow essentials organized and within reach, helping me stay focused and productive while drawing. With task-specific variations and streamlined shortcuts, my setup is adaptable to different creative needs.
