I'm stunned in the best way: it's humbling to have a bunch of people from all over the world enjoy my stuff, I'm very grateful. ;w; Thanks for all the downloads & nice messages you guys have sent me over the years, I'm glad I could help with your art and hope that my stuff still helps in the future.

In honor of this occasion, I decided to publish some brushes I've only published on Gumroad & Art Station for money as free brushes here. These come from several different sets & are a few fun brushes from each. Feel free to check out the original sets on my Gumroad & ArtStation if you're interested (I'm Saturns_day on both), but don't worry about it if you don't want to. I make free stuff for a reason, I know not everyone wants to pay for things or can, so just liking & downloading here is good enough for me! :D

I'm going to ramble a little bit, so here's all the materials you'll get here as a quick preview. :)

First, the drawing brushes:

Cthulhu pencil (remix) - I used it for rough lineart on this piece, but it works great for sketching. Makes a fun colored pencil as well if mixing is turned on.

Painterly Oil Pastel - one of my favorite brushes I've made, it is an "oil pastel" with a rough texture that blends great with itself, creating interesting strokes or nice gradients depending on how much it is mixed.

Fun Texture(er) - an easy to use texture that adds a little "extra". Used to texture the sand & do the foam for the waves.

Flatish Man - A somewhat flat fountain pen that gives an even line that still has character & variation. I'm very fond of these types of pens, they remind me of actual fountain pens without the bleed. Great for writing and illustration, drew a friendly anomalocaris for demonstration here. Its sequel, Flatishman 2, gives a more varied line.

[For those using microsoft translate: the best translation is "flat-looking man", as if Flatishman is a superhero that looks flat but not quite. Flatishman 2: Vengeance would be a silly name for a sequel movie.)

Hatching Pen -I used this to draw part of the hatching set. It's a fun inky looking pen that gives weighted lines by velocity. It drops density & size with speed, giving a realistic felt pen look. I also included a "smooth" variation if you don't want something that looks organic.

Felt Doodle & Draw - I used this brush for all of my antique floral sets! ( id=2076182 ) It is a non-blending pen that can be used for anything from sketching to lineart to painting with just a few quick adjustments. Reminds me of a very dry acrylic.

Triangle Priest Pencil - Great for rough lineart & solid sketches.

Jimmy - It's my boy, Jimmy. He's a pen that is affected by speed, and is rough & bumpy. He is quite grunge-y at both small and large sizes, and his dirty texture is part of his charm. He also does some fun rough hatching.

Groovy Ballpoint Pen - A ballpoint pen that looks like it's drawing on a surface with grooves. I love sketching with it, it builds up values well.

Triangle Hard Tip - A brush like a broad end felt marker. I like using it for thick line pieces and for illustrations with a lot of black areas. Great for bold statements. There is a light sketch variation made from it since I thought that would be useful - it's fun to sketch with big lines.

Grunge Tone - It's a brush made from one of the messy halftones I published earlier this year ( id=2055966 ). It looks like spraypaint and can be used for silly doodles or for word effects.

Second, the effects brushes:

Wax brushes - Made from real wax from a candle I dripped on paper! I'm not sure what the best use for it is, but they're a lot of fun to stamp. :D

Watercolor stamp - You can use it either as a solid & stamp down for extra texture, or use it as an eraser and create a "watercolor outline".

Fun texture(er) - it has a bit of color jitter that you can turn off for extra variance.

Fish Cake Blocks - Literal fishcakes I saw at the supermarket, took a photo of, and made a stamp from. It can be used as impromptu scales, dirt, and so on. You can also use it to paint.

chicken scratch - "Chicken Scratch" has a few meanings in English. Chickens dig in the dirt for food, and leave claw marks on the ground that look like this. "Chicken scratch" also can refer to messy handwriting, which this can also look like. The pen is set to scatter by default, but you can turn spray off & adjust the "gap" for a more regular & organized hatch. Feel free to customize it as much as you would like.

Brain Matter - It looks like the wrinkles of our brains. I'm not sure how useful it is, I just think it's fun to have. :D

Grunge Hatcher - a versatile hatcher that can be rougher or smoother by changing the density and texture. Good for analogue hatching.

Weird fun fact: I actually never use my hatching brushes. I'm a bit... crazy and like to do hatching by hand. I'm glad people like the hatching brushes because I have fun drawing them.

I forgot to do a little preview of the "Gouache Floral" brush, but it is a tiny scatter brush that makes little painterly flowers for decoration.

Lastly, the textures:

1. Felt Texture - I love the texture of felt for some reason. I think it can make any art more interesting by adding it onto a picture or a brush.

2. Ink Stained Paper Towel - to capture the texture of a paper towel, I had to dip it in ink. This way, the contrast would show up better digitally & I could manipulate it easier. I also included the original color one, but it doesn't repeat.

3. Foam pits - This was from an old craft I did as a kid. Surprisingly, it gives a nice texture to add to things.

4. Tissue Box Cardboard - a subtle texture that gives gentle variance to images.

5. Franken-Marble - As in, frankenstein marble. It is some marble pieces I have melded together to give a wild, loud texture.
